This project included the building and fitting out of M&E services to a purpose-built feed-processing plant and ancillary buildings.

This project included the building and fitting out of M&E services to a purpose-built feed-processing plant and ancillary buildings. It was carried out in partnership with a Dutch company, Ottevanger Milling Engineers, who completed the fit-out. Site enabling works, storage, office and retail accommodation were completed by a local Building Contractor. The Bankmore Mill is one of the most modern animal feed mills in Europe with a production capacity of approximately 200,000 tonnes per year. We were responsible for the design of the High Voltage & Low Voltage infrastructure, electrical switch room and control room layouts, energy efficient lighting, emergency lighting, fire alarm, general power and data cabling, CCTV and site infrastructure. We were responsible for client liaison, quality inspection, project management and cost control of the high specification animal feed mill. We were also responsible for the procurement of the specialist design services for the lift and building management system. The maximum import capacity for the site is 1700kVA. 2 No 2000kVA cast resin transformers and 11kV switchgear were provided by the electrical contractor while the 2 No low voltage main switchboards where provided by the Milling engineers. A 1500kVA standby generator was installed to enable the production to shut down safely during a power outage. We developed an excellent working relationship with the client and the project was nominated at the 2012 construction federation awards.
