Brief Description:
Renewable Building Technologies Ltd. was appointed by Wind Energy for Rural Businesses (WERB) to consultant and evaluate the feasibility of wind energy on 30 farms in Counties Tyrone and Donegal. The Company carried out technical consultancy for this project to install thirty 20kW wind turbines in rural businesses. Our role included carrying out site surveys, selection of sites, economic appraisals, technical management of projects, overseeing commissioning and the monitoring of projects.
The Company carried out economic appraisals for each farm. The aim of the appraisals was to provide an adequate record of the economic and financial factors that needed to be considered in deciding whether or not an investment was worthwhile. This covered the definition of the needs and objectives of the proposed project, how objectives would be met, the benefits, risks and Capital costs that would be involved. Revenue consequences of Capital costs were identified and the appraisal proved to be a robust decision making tool for the management of the farms and WREAN.
